Check in was not efficient. Had a long queue since we are not Marriott Bonvoy member. At least, my husband couldn’t find his membership number. We stay in many different hotels all over the world, and prefer Boutique Hotels.
Anyway, it took a while to queue and check in, and noting that the agent at the Bonvoy checkin helped two young men who just came into the lobby without queuing, and who are not Marriot members just had me see “red”! Lucia, the desk clerk had finished checking in someone, and without even looking up served the two men who went up to her. And THEY WERE NOT EVEN Marriott members. I had enquired. She claimed she had said “who’s next”. If she had said it, it was done very softly, and in the din in the lobby, no one could have heard her. If she had bothered to look up, she would have known the two men had just came into the lobby. She could have told them we were next in the queue since neither they nor us were members. Her head was down most of the time instead of observing and noting the long queue. However, the manager at that time, Yehia?, helped out and efficiently checked us in. I didn’t spell his name correctly, but he was a credit to the hotel, and exemplified what great service should be.
