I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Marriott in New York for my birthday celebration on New Year’s Day, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected.
First, the elevator service was terrible, with long wait times that made getting to and from my room quite frustrating. The issues didn’t stop there—my room’s bathroom had multiple problems. The sink was leaking from the pipes, and the toilet made continuous noise after flushing, which only stopped after I had to fiddle with it.
While the cleanliness of the room was excellent, and the hospitality from the staff was commendable, the overall experience left me disappointed. I had specifically requested a room with a view of the city, but the room I received did not meet my expectations. To make matters worse, some of my makeup and hair accessories were damaged due to water leakage in the drawer beneath the sink where I had stored my belongings.
As someone who was excited to celebrate a special occasion, I hoped for a seamless and enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, the issues with the room and facilities overshadowed what should have been a memorable trip. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously to improve the guest experience in the future.
