Great place to stay and explore Southwark.
Stayed here for a 2 night midweek break with a friend.
First of all I just want to say how friendly and helpful all the staff were. The man who checked us in was incredibly helpful and gave us some great suggestions of things to do and see.
The room was spacious / twin beds which were comfortable and it has been ages since I stayed in a hotel that provided biscuits with the tea and coffee. It may not seem much but it is a lovely touch!
We didn’t partake in the pub / restaurant downstairs as we were out and about but it looked great and had a selection of board games. I live in Kent so on my next stay with my husband we will definitely pop in for a drink.
The breakfast was good - I had the eggs Benedict and the eggs were cooked perfectly for me. My only criticism is that the English muffin it was served on hadn’t been toasted.
My friend had the smashed avocado on toast with poached egg. She can’t eat runny yolks and although she asked for it to be well done it was still a bit runny. She ate around it and enjoyed what she had.
I will definitely stay here again. The location is perfect for exploring Southwark and the hotel is a real gem.
