The hotel is nice, and the people who work there are also nice. We were surprised by a policy that is named ‘destination fee’ upon arriving. It is a daily $18 fee for services whether you use them or not. This includes in-room drinks/alcohol, room service, drinks and food at the restaurant or bar. This made us feel as if we had to use it or ‘lose’ it. Of course we ended up spending more than the $18 so end the end they got what they wanted. Personally I think a better strategy would be to give people a credit with the included price and it would have the same outcome but as a guest it would have been more palatable. We had a superior king room which was spacious and had a nice leather seat. Having more storage in the way of drawers would have been nice. We also had to ask for a fridge because the included one is stacked to the brim with expensive drinks. The Silver level reward from hotels.com is a bottle of wine. It was a smaller bottle of red wine. My wife liked it, but just FYI it is not a full bottle size. The best part of the room was the water pressure and instant hot water. The location is second best as you have so many options of places to eat. If you like BBQ, I would suggest Pinkerton’s. It is only a couple of blocks away and blew our mind. We also really liked Acenar mexican restaurant which is next to/below the restaurant directly next to the riverwalk. The Jumbo margaritas were amazing, as was the food itself, which comes out on hot plates so be careful!
