The Marriott brand has declined, in my opinion. This is the second Marriott property where we were charged a parking fee. It's not an urban area, the parking lot is open (no garage), on premises, and serves ONLY the hotel. This should be part of the cost of doing business. There is literally NO public transportation in the area and no other choices of dining. So, nearly EVERY guest is parking in the lot. I find that "extra charge" that's not even on the website to be offensive.
The hotel is nice enough, but secluded, so you have to drive everywhere. It's a fairly new building, but nobody thought to install comfort height toilets? When my husband used the toilet, his private parts literally took a bath in the "used" toilet water because the water level was so high and the seat was so low.
I think I'll be booking with a different brank next time. I lived in a Marriott for the better part of three years, but I won't be a guest in the future.
