There was one person working. She was checking guests in and was the bartender. There is no iron in the room. Rooms are the size of a small closet. Hall carpet was filthy. Hotel needs renovation. The outside looks like 1970. Highly disappointed.

Rats, Rude staff member, dirty rooms
Some much to write, little space! Rude staff on check in. Spoke to Manager L Cotton next day, she was great! Rooms were not cleaned, just beds remade. Desk was left dirty, dirty flannels left in bathroom. Sink plug did not work properly, light continuously flashed. The worst thing of all was the rats! I came out of the hotel one night and one ran past me directly outside the hotel. One of the staff saw and asked me if I was afraid of them. He then showed me where the infestation was, feet away from the main entrance in the bin store area. I instantly saw 5, some were huge! Saw numerous rats after that. Housekeepers seemed angry but were personally nice to me. My friends who checked in on another booking were left without towels. I had to give them some out of my room. Overall worst experience I’ve had in a hotel I’ve stayed in this year which is around 40 hotels in numerous countries. My friends checked out early and went to a different hotel.
Positives
1) My room was upgraded and was a decent size but it wasn’t cleaned. My friends were in a tiny room where you had to squeeze past the toilet to get to the shower.
2) Manager seemed to listen about my concerns regarding the room staff member at check in.
3) Pretty central hotel in an area around everything HOWEVER better hotels locally that were much cleaner. I know this as the one my friends moved to which was immaculate.
I’m not that fussy and this is the 1st hotel this year I would not return to!

The staff was very nice 5 stars for them! The room smelt like mildew and the AC was extremely loud. Hotel definitely needs some love.

Loved our stay. Super friendly staff. Comfy bed, clean sheets and towels. Bathroom shower could be cleaned a little better. There is also a bit of construction noise in the mornings.

Its a nice place, just felt the rooms were very small. I didn't realize the room didn't have a refrigerator or microwave in the room, otherwise i wouldn't of booked it. That was on me.
The bed, was more like a full size and not a queen.
I had to go ask for towels and toilet paper, because they only left 1 bath, hand and face towel. The toilet paper was almost out, and a extra roll wasn't left. I thought maybe it was just a over sight. But one evening while waiting on my spouse, several other guests were asking for towels!
I did like that it was near some great restaurants and the French Quarter.

Parking was not fun. 1 valet company for 3 hotels. Whitch you had to wait for awhile at pick times.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have encountered in a motel. They had the reservation wrong from the beginning. I had paid significantly extra for a king suite and needed two beds. They instead checked us in to a single king room. When I spoke to the front desk about this, I was basically told that my reservations was not for a suite even though I showed her it was on my phone, and that there were no suites available anyway. She refused my request for a refund saying she did not have the authority. She then put me in a 2 queen room that was missing a remote, was somewhat unclean, and the shower door didn’t close. She also forced me to join the Marriot loyalty club before checking in. The room I was in had the air conditioner blowing straight on the bed making it difficult to sleep and there was a lot of traffic noise. the morning, I went down for coffee and there was no one at the desk ( this was at about 9 am, not super early) and no coffee. Overall, this was a very poor experience and the customer service was very poor. I will never stay at this brand again.

I was somehow charged from Expedia for the night then also changed by the Moxy for the same night even though i was asked if I reserved it through Expedia. I chose the hotel for the cost and getting double charged is unacceptable. I will contact the hotel but i wanted to let people know to watch your card statement for overage charges

I like the ambiance of The Moxy Hotel. I love that you check in at the bar and get a free drink on the house. The environment is fun, non-stuffy and easy going. The staff was always pleasant, giving that Southern Charm. Check in was easy and efficient. The elevators need maintenance for sure. I had a room on the second floor, it faced the construction going on across the street. I guess you get what you pay for. 😂 My room was clean, however our pillows and bedding had a yellow stain to them. Unfortunately I didn't notice them until the next day.
Luckily they were changed out the next morning. The bed itself needs to be changed. I didnt sleep well as it was not comfortable. Shower is great, the sink is in the room so I guess it's multifunction. The hall carpet was dirty, the furnishings are old. The location is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon, but close enough. This Moxy was different than the others I've stayed in. It's a bit withered and tattered and can use some TLC. Price matched what we got so I wasn't too upset. Would I stay again? Not unless they get an update.
