Overall, not terrible, but understand this is a place for people on a budget. We flew up from Florida for a sudden passing of a family member. The rooms were basically clean but you can see the wear & tear from the furniture to the linen. The area has gone a bit downhill since covid. I used to live 2 miles away at 696 & Gratiot area before moving out of state.
Since this is a cheaper hotel, it attracts poorer locals (I'm certain there are a few people living here that can't afford a house or apartment). A fight broke out near our window with young people. 3 times during the night on Saturday, loud people coming from the bars woke us up. At 4:45 am, some girl knocked on our door. It was obvious she was at the wrong room but even after we said she was at the wrong room, she persisted to knock until i opened the door and told her to get lost, she had the wrong room.
Keep in mind, that's not the hotel's fault, but just an example of our stay. During the week wasn't bad. Just remember it's not the Ritz Carlton.
