Visually beautiful, great location but CRAP
The room is absolutely stunning- we loved it! It was different to what we thought we were getting as thought we’d booked the marshmallow room- specifically only came with our two young daughters for the pink room- was told we should have specifically requested it though as we thought we’d booked it we didn’t realise we had to. Maybe the downside of booking through a booking platform though a message from the hotel to advise as such would have been helpful in guiding us. We only booked this hotel for this reason paying £520 in total, no breakfast, no “sweet box” that apparently is meant to be in the room- told staff, shrugged this off. “Free mini bar included” but not really great for 4 people. Also one small condition, messaged down to reception to ask for more along with query around turn down service as only one bed was made up and no additional bedding, room service so prompt but no making up of bed, asked 3 times over 2 hours (small children, now nearly 10pm) and was told they couldn’t only respond to me 24/7- rude, obnoxious front of house staff- so insulting! Housekeeper was lovely who then came up and did it! Our queries were so minimal but the strong, rude responses meant we couldn’t raise any issue- such as remotes not working, air con not working, lighting system ineffective!
Restaurant we paid £200 for freezer foods though the view is absolutely spectacular and the bar staff lovely.
We left by 8:30am as roadworks start at 7- no courtesy to inform us of this.
