Clean and refreshing!

Our family was visiting Georgia for the first time and we wanted something close to the Ameris Ampitheatre. The hotel was easy to find and was central to all the amenities we could ask for. It was so refreshing after a long day of flights and driving to walk into a spotless and welcoming lobby! Everything smelled so clean. It definitely earns a 5 star rating from this Texas family!

Generally, the hotel is decent depending on where you’ve stayed prior. The outside, room and amenities fits hotel rating. It’s the details that were the downside. Our tub was sprayed with enamel to repair damaged spots and it gave it an unappealing look and feel. The tub and sink wouldn’t drain so I pulled the drain out and they were disgusting—covered in thick, black residue with flaking pieces. Some of the dishes in the dishwasher did not clean properly. In other areas of the hotel you can see the wear. Otherwise the room was as expected. The bed was comfortable and clean.

Excellent staff but loud, early renovation noise

The staff at Homewood Suites couldn’t have been any friendlier or more accommodating. The location is ideal with plenty of restaurants, Main Event Games and Top Golf all within walking distance. The hotel is a little old but it is in good condition and going through a substantial renovation. The room was great, large and the beds were comfortable. The only problem with this stay was the renovation. I don’t hold this against Homewood Suites and certainly not the staff but, the construction was loud and started at promptly 8 am both mornings we were there. It would be impossible to sleep through the noise, not exactly the kind of wake up you want on a vacation. Mix in the time zone difference from where we live and it was like being awoken at 7 am on your vacation with construction going on in the room, it was that loud. We would definitely stay here again but, we will wait until the renovations are complete before we return.

Great on paper, horrible in person

We had the two room suite to accommodate our family with small children. The room was spacious, but in poor condition. The bedding used mattress protectors as blankets underneath a horrible curtain like sham. We hoped to use the bathtubs to bath our small children, but both tubs in the room were peeling with a yellow residue all over them. It did not feel sanitary enough to use for a bath. There was still food residue left on the kitchen eating area and crumbs underneath it. The hairdryer was about to fall off the wall and we had no hot water in the sink in the bathroom with the king bed. The sink in the other bath was tricky to get hot water as well, since the handle was loose and hit the mirror when turned on all the way. For the price, I expected much better condition. There’s also some kitchen items but no plates or bowls or cups for hot water. No napkins in the kitchen area as well. Pretty disappointed overall.
