This is a true horror story! Buckle Up.... So, the hotel staff REFUSED to refund me via hotels.com reaching out and pleading them to do so. They wouldn't answer their lobby phone... I had to go back to the hotel and go to the lobby (after I booked a hotel at another location for the night) and call the lobby in front of them to ensure they would answer the call from Hotels.com because they were refusing to do so.
The gave us keys to a room that had an unswept floor, no sheets or bedding, one pillow, a dirty toilet with spit and urine in it, dirty towels. It was honestly disgusting. Some of these no frills hotels may not be fancy but at least they're clean... this was NONE of the above. There were cigarette ashes on one of the beds too. So we went back to the lobby to ask for another room because we figured that they made a mistake and gave us a room that housekeeping hadn't yet cleaned. So we got a room on the 2nd floor and the heater was completely broken and expected us to be okay with this room because at least it was cleaner than the other location that we 'complained' about.
The audacity of this hotel staff and this shady operation they're running! They need to be shut down! I was appalled, still am. And I still had to pay for another hotel because I refused to stay at this location. And they couldn't even be honest enough and refund me for the first night, they tried to make me feel like I was 'lucky' that I was refunded for at least 1 of the 2 nights! Ridiculous.
