Hotels.com revised to resolve reservation issue.
We arrived at the hotel with our reservation pulled up on the hotels.com app after an 8 hour drive with children. The hotel quickly informed me they had no reservation for me. I showed them the reservation on the app and they informed me that the hotel had canceled a large number of reservations through Expedia last month, mine included, because the price we were sold was too low. I had recieved zero communication from any party that my reservation had been canceled. I immediately reached out to hotels.com via their live chat. After a back and forth I was told they were escalating my issue and that I would hear back in 24 to 72 hours. I had no choice but to pay a higher price for the room I had reserved as my family and I needed a hotel. The difference in price was more than $300. Now hotels.com refuses to resolve this issue. They will not Eben reference whether or not the canceled reservation was communicated to them from the hotel itself. They just keep telling me that the hotel didn't charge me a cancelation fee which has nothing to do with the issue at hand and doesn't change the fact I paid more than $300 more than the reserved price on my app. Terrible customer service.
