Good enough budget hotel in excellent location.
Overall, a good budget hotel, although the attached Criowne Plaza is considerably better for only a fraction more €€€. Positives: Location, being situated in a shopping mall very close to central station. Also very near the old town. Comfortable enough room with all the basics that you need for a few days. The breakfast buffet was OK. OK shared gym (although can get busy). Negatives: There isn't a restaurant for evening meals or any bar snacks, therefore you need to go out (or next-door to the Crowne Plaza). I didn't like the flimsy sliding door to the bathroom in my room (OK for one, but not if sharing). The air conditioning wasn't working, likely switched off for the winter, making it quite stuffy in the room. On check-out, the lady didn't even notice I was standing there and continued playing with her phone. (No apology).Luckily another member of the team appeared and checked me out. Would I stay again - yes, if the Crowne Plaza was full again.

Perfect location, comfortable, great breaky
This was our last stop on a 12 day trip through the Netherlands using the rail system. Have sayed in many types of accommodations - have to say, this is a great option for Utrecht. The room was very comfortable, comfortable bed, big windows, bathroom well designed, big shower. You literally walk out of the train station and into an enormous elegant mall. 6-7 minutes on smooth surfaces makes this an easy arrival/departure in any weather. Check in was excellent: offered to store our luggage as we got there early, but then found a room ready so we got in early! Don't remember the young man's name (from Madrid) but he was very helpful and welcoming. Room key required to access room floor is a nice touch. Given it's in a busy building, amazingly quiet. Breakfast is typical Hampton: really nice buffet with hot & cold options, comfortable breakfast room. Chek out: they weren't super busy & invited to keep the room longer, alowing us to get lunch, come back to pack up before heading for trains. All in all a great choice for anyone coming to Utrecht for a couple nights.

Excellent location barely five minutes' walk from the railway station in the centre of the city. Smooth check-in, pleasant staff not over effusive. Good breakfast. Room clean and tidy, if notvthe biggest. Bed comfortable, heating and air-con fine - and an openable window for fresh air. Attending a concert - less than five minutes' walk to Tivoli Vrendberg venue.

I am travelling with my brother and sister-in-law from Canada and it was our first time in Utrect. We booked the hotel online because it was close to the train station and convenient. Didn’t realize that it was only accessible through the mall, which ment that it was a long walk to the outside. As we have a smoker this was not conenient. Early check in was requested via email, but no response was send by the hotel. Upon arrival it was denied. The reception staff was very short and borderline ruse. We asked about food and we’re send outside of the hotel for lot’s of options. The A/C was not really sufficient and maintenance didn’t help. When asking for a fan were told don’t have that, we have A/C. It finally cooled the room by 2 degrees the next day. When my brother asked for more towels at reception at 7 AM he was told housekeeping would bring them, but they weren’t delivered by our 10 AM checkout. We had a train to catch. The mold in the shower corners was a concern and there are numerous homeless waiting outside the mall in the morning for you, your cigarettes and money. When we told them we had no cash they showed us where the ATM was located. Not a good experience inside or out. Will not stay there again nor recommend it.

I liked the location although I had trouble finding it at first. The facilities were very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, close to good food and drinking to enjoy outside ambience. It was so very close to the train station which was a bonus. I would go back to this hotel and recommend it to others.
