This property is a little off the beaten track in a beautiful valley setting in the village of Mespelbrunn, with an easy walk to a quaint castle. The setting is peaceful, and the most impressive part is the owner family and staff who went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of in our brief stay. The breakfast is super! Well worth the visit.

Gutes Abendessen, super Frühstück, aber ...
Sauberkeit gut - sehr-gut, ordentliches Zimmer, leider mit Teppichboden. Bei fast 40 Grad Außentemperatur war das Zimmer mit Wärme geladen, wie ein Backofen. Der Hotelier hielt es nicht für notwendig das Zimmer etwas zu lüften oder einen Ventilator anzubieten. Draußen im Garten befindet sich eine nette schattige Sitzecke, mit Kneippbecken. Der Hotelier hält es nicht für notwendig Getränke o.ä. anzubieten. Andere Gäste kaufen sich Getränke außerhalb des Hotels und kühlen diese im Kneippbecken. Nach 10-stündiger Anreise von Dänemark und Bewältigung vieler Staus, kamen wir gegen 19.30 Uhr im Hotel an. Der Hotelier begrüßte uns kaum und schenkte sich hinter der Theke lieber selbst mal ein kühles Bier ein und trank es dort gleich. Im Restaurant wurden wir freundlich bedient. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, so wie auch das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen. Dass ein Schlaf möglich war, war wohl unserer Erschöpfung geschuldet. Das durch und durch aufgeheizte Zimmer kühlte sich bis in den frühen Morgen hinein etwas ab. Das Hotel Engel befindet sich in kürzester Nähe zum Schloss Mespelbrunn. Das in die Jahre gekommene Schloss lohnt den kurzen Fussmarsch kaum. Ein Besuch in der schönen Stadt Miltenberg am Main entschädigte uns am nächsten Tag. Wer auf der Durchreise ist, sollte eher dort Rast machen. Der Engel in Mespelbrunn bietet eine gute Gastronomie, schadet sich leider selbst durch die Unfreundlichkeit und das Desinteresse des Hoteliers. Schade.

Hotel rural con restaurante local, se cena muy bien. Mi habitacion era doble, con sillon y sofa. Buena mesa de trabajo y buena cama para descansar. Baño amplio, asi como la ducha. Con balcon, para los fumadores. Desayuno excelente, mucha variedad y de buena calidad. Zona de aparcamiento detras, en el patio. Señal de Wifi algo deficiente, se corta a media noche y no se vuelve a recuperar.
