The toyoko inn in kyoto was a no thrills, great value hotel. Its great if you just want a base to explore from, nothing fancy. The bed and room was comfortable and all amenities were very useful. The location was brilliant being not from from eateries, shopping places and transport networks.

We slept very well thanks to silence, great blackout curtains and bed. The room was basic but has all you need. Breakfast was simple and the limited supply would run out after a while, although maybe that is understandable for the price of the room. The wifi worked very choppy when using a VPN.
