Cusco's cultural Cusco Historic Center neighbourhood is loved for its churches and museums, and visitors often enjoy its varied attractions, including Plaza de Armas and Santa Catalina Convent.
Plaza de Armas is worth passing through for a few pics when in Cusco Historic Center. Why not live the cultural experience and visit the churches, museums and cathedral in the area? Your sightseeing tour starts here.
If you like strolling among the stalls, you might want to head out to San Pedro Market in Cusco Historic Center and take in the atmosphere. Splash some more cash at Santiago Plaza, Cusco Craft Center and Calle Marquez.
If seeing the sights is on your list of things to do, head to Sacsayhuaman – just one of the landmarks located 1.9 mi (3.1 km) from central Cusco. You can also discover the churches and cathedral in the area – your sightseeing tour starts here.
Wander cobblestone streets lined with Incan stone walls and ornate colonial churches in this high-altitude city. Explore the ancient ruins of Sacsayhuamán or take a day trip to the legendary Machu Picchu.
This is a unique, historical city with great restaurants and lots to explore! Definitely spend time here before gift to Machu Picchu, to adjust to the altitude and relax into the Peruvian atmosphere. Jack's restaurant and Jill's are good and close!

I was in Cusco for 3 days and wish I had at least 6 to explore everything. This was my favorite stop in all of Peru! If you can, take extra time here to explore, but also give yourself a few days to acclimate to the elevation before any big hikes.

I believe many people visit Cusco before/after they visit Macchu Picchu, but Cusco has a lot to offer, too. I enjoyed visiting Pre Columbian Museum and the view from Mirador de San Cristobal was amazing. The restaurants were excellent as well.

Cusco is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. If planning to see many of the sites, get the integral tourist ticket and I would recommend a taxi up to Saccsayhuaman or Q'enqo and can walk down. Don't miss Sacred Valley as well.

Cusco is a very special city. The landscape is beautiful and the history is fascinating. It's a fairly peaceful town with lots of good vibrations. I can understand why the Incan Empire chose it for their Kings!

There's a lot of history in and around Cusco. It's worth taking a few tours. The square really came alive at night. We felt very safe walking around day or night. Cusco is a very clean city.

Cusco is one of the most amazing cities in the world. It has everything. The historical significance, culture, food, shopping, and pre-Inca centuries of history.

We hope to return to Cusco one day. It's a wonderful city with beautiful scenery, amazing food and art and a lovely, festive feel.
"The staff was FANTASTIC! There was always someone at the lobby, 24/7 and everyone was always smiling and willing to help.
The rooms were clean, the beds were cozy and warm (with an extra blanket!), the wifi was quite good, although there were moments it wasn’t loading. The hotel was very well located! It was near the main square and many restaurants.
The breakfast was quite complete, I just wish there had been a few more gluten free options, but there were a few good options to pick from:)
Also the staff packed us a breakfast for when our excursion left at 4am, which was so kind of them!
I unfortunately suffered from altitude sickness and the staff was very understanding and helpful, they instantly called over a doctor and when I was sick again the next day, they provided an oxygen tank. I am really appreciative of their help and kindness:)
Overall, the staff is what makes Taypikala so wonderful:) "
"A nice hotel, great location, good restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. Kiki the alpaca was a real treat! Only downside is the noise - could hear everything going on outside and in adjacent rooms. Hotel could benefit by posting “quiet hours” at least to contain the noise from those staying at the hotel "
"Amazing location, close to all the main tourist attractions! The hotel was spotless, elegant, and very well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful, and every detail made our stay feel special. Perfect for anyone wanting comfort and convenience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended"
"Great Hotel with excellent breakfast and service. Great water pressure and hot water.
We went to Machu Picchu and got delayed for 2 days returning. We had valuables in the room and our check out was expiring. We rebooked and messaged the hotel. They took care of everything. When we returned all our valuables were secured.
HIGHLY recommend this hotel."
"This is my second stay on this trip to Cusco due to the Machu Picchu excursion. I gotta mention this place is equipped with Smart TVs, so important to many of you and great breakfasts!! Again Marjory and Yohan are so friendly and extremely attentive to customers needs!! "
