Parking
The stays was nice. Only problem is parking is a bit of a problem when you some parking you can’t do a u-turn and have to reverse all the way to reception to get out off the resort

2/10 Poor

Very old fashioned hotel. Got sick at the restaurant from lunch with terrible diarrhea. The concierge couldn’t even recommend restaurants nearby We stayed in the last cabin available which was a scary log house in woods. Bed was uncomfortable with two mattresses for a double bed. Furniture is outdated and feels dirty Breakfast is not even included when you pay 200€ for such a crap place. Views are nice from restaurant though

Heaven on Earth in a Tree House with private beach
Perfect for couples!!! We booked this place last minute due to bad weather and the receptions staff was accommodating beyond believe. We stayed in our very own private treehouse with a fire place and country bath.... Romantic Heaven. Property had a restaurant serving delicious food, recommend dinner at sunset, activities for kids, and tour planning. Do use the Hike trail to private beach with breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains, majestic pictures and swims. This property is a must visit and definitely a revisit for us. A bit of heaven on earth!!! World class staff

Terrible service.
The view from our room was amazing but thats all it has going for it. The room itself was small, but adequate but my husband and I found it really hard to sleep because of the mattress and the curtains letting all the sun in at sunrise. The service at the restaurant was terrible, I wouldn't recommend it. Each time we went there we were seated then forgotten, or ignored and eventually went elsewhere for our meals. The restaurant really lets the place down.

good and relaxing
Arriving at the resort I was welcomed by very friendly staff, they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and wanted. Stepping into the dolphin chalet I was a bit disappointed. Although clean some of the items inside the chalet seem a bit dated. It was dark and not as “light” as in the images. Lights were fitted with very low wattage bulbs that can be improved. We did not have the view as per our booking and what the images implying. The vegetation is part of the resort ambience and with a 200-year growing history I would not want them to cut anything but then the advertising of a sea view should be limited. My daughter stayed there on three prior occasions and all three times she was very impressed with the room/chalet and view they have had, she also stayed with us this time and could not believe that this is the same resort's accommodation. Despite our disappointment, we did have a wonderful stay and all the staff we encountered went out of their way with their friendliness. The area was overgrown with breath-taking vegetation. We were secluded enough to have all the privacy you need. It was close to the swimming pool, sauna and restaurant/entertainment area. Although we did not join, there was a live band playing the Saturday afternoon. We have had fast wifi reception. I will definitely visit them again but will try to get one of the chalets with a better view of the sea and a bit more light - natural or with the help of better bulbs

This place was such a nice surprise, it is beautiful and so romantic. I will definitely visit them again. And it was excellent value for my money. The restaurants food was so nice, and so also the buffet breakfasts.

Would have taken 30 min to address our concerns.
We booked a non sea view and a sea view room. The sea view room had less sea view. We were not supposed to bath (water restrictions) the shower head was broken - sprayed the entire room and suddenly hot or cold. We asked to have this replaced more than once, it was not. The room was so dark we could not read or do ablutions (such as put in contact lenses), we were told many bulbs were wrongly bought and it could not be replaced. We bought different bulbs and replaced it. Smoke in rooms from fireplace (especially if windy). Guests smoking in eating area and everywhere. Owners seemed relaxed, but appeared a bit more comfortable with tourist guest role than proprietor role. Beach violent crime - so be aware and careful - don't take belongings with - or rather use different beach. Don't get a fright if something falls onto you during the night - just tiny geckos dropping from the roof - harmless. Consider security risks in area - there is one guard available, but the hotel is rather exposed to public. Crime rates in Cape Town high. The strengths - friendly staff, very good food and view of sunset if right time of year, good breakfast, wonderful and unique nature setting (if no fires - 100 fires started a day in Cape Town and this is a high risk area). We might return (with bulbs and a shower head), as we like quiet, nature and not in city center, we don't mind roughing it a bit, but we won't recommend it to friends.

I absolutely love Monkey Valley. I have stayed many times and even brought clients here. Unfortunately, this time was during the drought season and while some houses on the property did have running water, ours did not and we were travelling with small children and only told once we had checked in. This made it an uncomfortable experience, however the house we stayed in was otherwise quite beautiful, clean, etc. with unrivaled views of Noordhoek beach. I guess my advice would be to ask about the water before booking.

Very interesting. It’s hidden in the trees, like staying in a tree house. The beach is beautiful and overall it was a pleasant stay.

Unique place to stay close to nature
We stayed in the Guinea Fowl suite. It was absolutely beautiful. We had amazing views of the ocean, comfortable bed and bath and the room itself was spacious. We were located close to the dining area convenient but it was a bit noisy at times. The restaurant staff was a little slow.

Incredible views across the beach!
Spectacular views across the beach from the top corner house! Superb resort, authentic in every way. The kitchen needs a new chef TBH, the food left much to be desired! NO WIFI at the house tho!
