The location and curb appeal cannot be denied. It is in a popular part of the city with many restaurants, bars, and a popular street for walking and strolling.
Its curb appeal is also alluring as it an historic building with all of its original arcitecture and lovely outdoor seating with a cared for garden.
The staff, although polite and nice, did not fulfill our requests when we first arrived and saw the room. And this is where the THUMBS DOWN begins. Everything charming about the exterior is completely lost when walking through the hallways to the room. We stayed in a bigger room with 2 full beds. Although quiet, it showed signs of neglect and half-hazard maintenance at every corner. Worst part was the configuration of the shower. It was located on the OUTER part of the room where we have to step FROM THE SHOWER TO THE BEDROOM rather than it being enclosed with the toilet, sink, and tiny mirror. There was nothing comfortable about that! The walls, decor, flooring just showed so much neglect and yuckiness - as if things repaired were done so with no care or thought for how they would clearly show.
The only upside to the room were the clean soft sheets and pillows. They were the only thing that felt "BOUTIQUE" in the Davini Suite. The reviews on Expedia were most deceitful as I based my booking on what others said and the star rating. I would NOT recommend this hotel if you truly want "boutique".
Unfortunately.
