El Tovar is a beautiful, historic hotel right on the south rim. Main complaint is the room AC unit in the room was very noisy. Make restful sleeping difficult. Good food options with the Bright Angel Lodge.

Just OK, consider other options

Our stay here was just OK - we weren’t made to feel particularly welcome, which given this is likely a trip of a lifetime to the Grand Canyon was a shame. We really disliked our evening meal in the restaurant. It was overpriced and was not fine dining. We preferred our lunch in the Bright Angel lodge next door. This was the single most expensive nights accommodation on our trip to the US and it wasn’t worth it, not really. The room and beds were fine, it just wasn’t the special stay we were expecting.
