I wish we had taken into account quality reviews of the establishment before booking. Please read on!
We requested the front desk staff to report the following room defects to the maintenance dept. within an hour of our arrival:
1. Lighting not working above bed
2. AC not providing cooling
3. Broken bathroom waste bin
4. Bathroom extract fan not working
5. Fire alarm detectors apparently not working, this is by the detectors’ operational LED not intermittently flashing throughout the hotel
6. Dirty marks on the bedroom walls
None of the above were corrected upon checking out. Unlike the Van de Valk hotel group reception staff, where you are asked if your complaint has been rectified - I’m a satisfied customer not an employee or shareholder.
We overheard other guests conversations reporting defects within their room and wonder if these guests were successful in having their concerns rectified?
The breakfast on our first morning consisted of stale rolls, bruised fruit and appalling tasting coffee - we had expected Bonka, Marcilla, Dromedario coffee brands etc. Cake was available and so was fruit juice - bearing in mind Spain has abundant oranges we were surprised to be offered orange coloured sugared water. Consequently, we breakfasted elsewhere after this experience.
Wi-fi, there’s some in the main restaurant and bar. Don’t expect wireless network connectivity elsewhere.
