Hivernage Hotel And Spa
"5 stars all round for this hotel. Good breakfast and spacious clean rooms. Location was perfect, in the nicer area of Marrakech and within walking distance to the main areas. Service was impeccable and staff go out of their way to help make the stay comfortable. I informed hotel about a birthday, They set up the room with flowers and treats to make the day special! Thank you to guest relations manager for making it extra memorable. Will deffo book at this hotel when visiting Marrakech again!"
Taj Cape Town
"Great hotel in downtown Cape Town. Opted to stay Concierge level in the historic part of the hotel, and loved the old-world vibe. Rooms are beautifully appointed, Food in Mint Restaurant was very good, and excellent at Bombay Brasserie. Service at both was stellar. Incredibly warm and helpful front desk staff. Would definitely stay here again."

"Beautiful place in the convenient location"
Le Riad Monceau
"What a jewel of a place among so many Riads to choose from. They pick you up from the airport and bring you right to the Riad so you don’t have to find it inside the Medina. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. While they check you in, a little Moroccan tea and an almond delicacy. Room is small but very comfortable and has everything. AC, tea, water, some peaches all charming and well above my expectations for the price of the room. The best is their jazz band playing at their restaurant Arabe and their roof top patio La Pergola which is bustling with life in the open sky air. Both staff and food were great. It was a very pleasant experience. Soram the manager made our check out great by showing us a map and where to go, offering guide or taxi services and keeping our luggage until we came back. I would go again as it made our coming to Marrakesh for the first time not stressful at all. They’re very simpatico"
Marrakech Riads, Angsana Heritage Collection
"Pour notre 1er voyage à Marrakech ce Riad nous a complètement charmé. Il est à la fois très beau, très agréable, bien placé pour les visites de la médina et le personnel y a été agréable. Les petits déjeuners typiques et variés proposés tous les matins sont très bons et le dîner au restaurant était également délicieux ! Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir."
Cape Heritage Hotel
"Outstanding staff and great, old world hotel.”Delicious, bespoke breakfasts set the tone for an excellent experience. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Stephen P"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Africa
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Africa is during May, June, and September, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those keen on discovering the region's rich history, culture, and natural wonders, a stay of at least 3 days is recommended. This duration allows for ample time to explore significant landmarks and engage with local cultural attractions, ensuring a great value for money experience while on a budget.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover great deals for hotels in Africa, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. To maximise your chances of savings, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com, which could keep you informed about flash sales and exclusive last-minute promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're always updated on your preferred hotels. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you'll be among the first to know, making your last-minute getaway more attainable.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can vary depending on factors such as the hotel’s location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates may help you save on your stay in an African hotel. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels can offer a more personalised touch and sometimes better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears on the higher side, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you explore alternative options.
- Consider your location: Staying in the heart of major cities in Africa certainly offers the advantage of convenience, allowing easy access to a variety of local attractions. However, this prime location often comes at a premium, making accommodation significantly more expensive. In contrast, smaller towns and rural areas are generally more likely to be affordable, presenting an attractive option for budget-conscious travellers. For those seeking better rates, considering hotels situated just outside the city centre may be beneficial, though it’s worth noting that this could involve some additional travel to reach key sights. Additionally, exploring nearby cities that boast a wealth of experiences might provide a delightful compromise between affordability and accessibility.
Best time to go to Africa
Africa has a varied climate due to its size, so the best time to visit depends on the region and your preferences for weather and crowds. October to December are the peak travel months in Africa, attracting a higher number of tourists. During this peak period, the weather is sunny to mostly sunny, accompanied by no to light rainfall. On the other hand, April to June tend to be quieter times to visit, marked by no rainfall and sunny conditions.
