Not a fan of memory foam mattresses, the parking isn't the greatest if its a busy weekend but the worst part is the shower. Lol I felt like I was showering in some small camper. No tub. Just a tiny shower stall. But the A/C was awesome!

We enjoyed our quick one-night stay at Lumber Jills! Super clean, comfy beds/bedding, walkable to main street and had everything we needed. The owner chatted with us upon leaving just to make sure we had a good stay. Appreciated that!

I love the location and concept of the motel, but the renovation of this place is cheap. Our bathroom was kind of gross in that it appeared dirty especially in the corners and in the shower. The main room was small but very cute and being able to park right outside the door is a plus. Also, a nice, easy walk into town.

This hotel was very clean, and the check-in process (keyless) was super easy. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The location in Balsam Lake is perfect for hiking the Ice Age Trail as many trailheads are within 15-20 minutes. We loved the larger refrigerator with freezer, as we were able to bring more food with us for four days of hiking! Although opening the bathroom window did provide some ventilation for taking a shower, it would be nice to install exhaust fans in the bathrooms. Otherwise the window air conditioner was perfectly adequate to keep the room temperature comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back to hike some more!!

We had a little mixup when we checked in. Our code for the room we were assigned didn’t work, was given a 2nd code. However, the room was either not turned or was currently occupied (luckily there was no one there at the time) We were helped by a service agent over the phone. He stayed on the line with us until our situation was solved. He reassigned us a different room & a new code. It worked fine. The furnishings were on the cheaper side, the room was cute, clean, the beds & linens were comfortable. However, the regular price of $250-300+ is too much for this hotel. We got a much lower off-season rate of under $100 per night which was appropriate for this caliber property. The easy & quick access to our family was perfect. The added touch of a single use Kureg was nice, but it took some figuring out to operate as there was no on/off button, the K-cups were too low to be punctured & there was no directions. It turned out that it was ready to operate just by plugging it in. We just removed the coffee from the pods & put it in the basket for each cup. It was the 1st time we stayed at a hotel that was all virtual with no front desk attendant. However the over the phone service agent did a great job for us. If we can get a similar rate we would definitely stay there again.

Room was clean but there were stains on the fitted sheet and a pillow cover. Not a biggie, nothing a little bleach can't fix, but, still quite obvious. The bed was the best part of the experience, it was comfortable, huge and the pillows were supportive and not paper thin. The AC is a gangster. Cooled down the room in a matter of minutes, probably because it was quite small. User error being as I didn't look to see the size of room before booking. The complimentary water bottles in the fridge saved us! Super convenient check in and check out .....BUT..... finding the code was pretty challenging even though it was at the beginning of the check in message. This is probably because I am a millennial and expect to see the words "The door code to enter is..." NOT just an emoticon next to a 4 digit number followed by detailed instructions. Overall, the room was INCREDIBLY overpriced ($200 per night) for the size, lack of amenities (not even a soda/snack vending machine) and clear instructions. They also offer a "free" coffee mug ONLY IF you leave a 5 star review. This weekend was my wife and I's 6 year anniversary and we would have loved to have had a free coffee mug to remember it by, even if the lodging wasn't a 5 star Hilton experience. Apparently the normal rate of the room is $265 dollars. That price is outlandish for the quality.
