Lots for wildlife lovers - we loved the penguin tour and albatross centre, and the Orokonui eco-sanctuary. Be aware many restaurants in the area close quite early in the evening.

Dunedin was relatively quiet when we were there and the octagon (city center shopping area) had lots of construction going on but we found the city to be cute with plenty of sites to see including some amazing botanic gardens with a bird reserve.

Always be prepared for the cold in Dunedin. It is an old small city with narrow windy hill streets and old dwellings. But it is also has an air of culture. The museums etc are great.

"What a great place to stay. Certainly exceeded my expectations. My wife and I spent the weekend in Dunedin and the stay at The Distinction certainly enhanced the overall experience. "
"All the staff were amazing nothing was an effort. Only negatives was our bed was uncomfortable and the cleaning staff did a terrible job cleaning our room daily. Otherwise I loved everything about the hotel and would definitely stay there again."
