Our stay at hotel Anika was relatively good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the room itself was very clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. However, it was much smaller than advertised. It wasn’t really a hotel room, more of a room with a bed in it. This wasn’t a major issue for us as we were only spending a small amount of time in the room, but we did feel slightly cheated as none of the pictures indicate this. The location is brilliant, less than a 10 minute walk to the Old Town Square, and it’s got some great pubs/restaurants nearby. If you want to be near to everything, but still away from the hustle and bustle, I would recommend it for this reason.
I can’t speak on the noise coming from the nightclub across the street as our window backed onto a school instead. This wasn’t an issue over the weekend, but it was noisy on the weekdays as the children were playing outside. Not a major issue for us though.
However, the hotel itself is very noisy, and we didn’t have a single night of uninterrupted sleep. I’m a heavy sleeper, yet each night I was woken by guests coming home, doors opening, staff cleaning the rooms, and the breakfast service starting downstairs. The walls and doors were paper thin and it didn’t feel very private. As our room was so small, the noise made it feel like we were sleeping in the corridor!
Overall, our stay was okay. The location was great, friendly staff, clean room, but I wouldn’t stay here again due to noise :(
