Malioboro Street is vibrant and full of life. Borobudur Temple; we recommend purchasing tickets well in advance for the temple too tour. The museum is excellent but the palace and water palace are disappointing. A great city.

We loved arriving via train from Jakarta. A great and earth friendly way to travel. Very clean and comfortable carriages. Jogja is a great base from where to explore the surrounding area and feels friendly.

"Beautiful historic hotel with incredible service. The pool was refreshing, the food was very good. We also received excellent advice from the travel agent on site and had a marvelous 3 days with a guide. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the area."
"A stop was lovely. The walls were very thin and because they only give you one key there’s people constantly banging on doors to be let in this happened all through the night. It was quite annoying. Also, you need a key to get in the elevator so every time one of us would leave you’d have to go down to get them because the key was also your electricity.
Definitely needs to be sprayed. There were quite a few roaches, but overall the hotel was kept up very nicely"
