Staying at the Niu was a mixed experience, both good and bad.
The good points first - the included breakfast contained a lot of variety (a lot more than other hotels), the staff were quite friendly, the artwork was lovely and the Internet speed was good. Additionally, the room was quite modern and the presentation of the room was good. I was also not penalised because I was late (due to a delay in trains) - but I don't know if this was to do with Expedia or to do with the hotel itself.
Unfortunately, these points were marred a little by the fact the bathroom (and shower especially) was small, the room was super warm (noting, in fairness, it was summer and I was on the top story) and there was no air conditioning. There also seemed to be some discrepancy - in the first two days - between whether I had paid for the included breakfast (which I had via Expedia) or not and I had to spend a bit of time with Expedia to check and reach out to the hotel.
To be fair, this is not a terrible hotel, it's a reasonable hotel, but to take it from an 'okay' hotel to a good or great hotel would be the introduction of (reverse cycle) air con, better signage from the outside and consolidating records rather than my having to go back to Expedia to sort out whether I can have breakfast in the hotel or not.
