Great location, awesome staff! Nice hotel. The beds are horrible, the are not comfortable. The double beds in the double room could have been queens. My entire family didn’t sleep very well do to the extremely uncomfortable beds. This property would have been a five star review if it wasn’t for the short coming of their mattress selection.

The shower was sent from the heavens (they have great water pressure) the location is so convenient you can walk everywhere from central park, carnegie hall, Rockefeller,times square and 15 minute walk from the deli 48 thats open 24 hours(the distance helped when I wanted a strawberry roll cake at 3am) and of course the staff was engaging and helpful. I hope to stay in the same location when i make my next visit to nyc!

Perfect Upper East Side Home Base

Hip, clean, modern, comfortable. Nothing bad to say about this great hotel. Super well appointed, especially the lobby and mezzanine lounge area. It feels like being in a high end property for a fraction of the price. One important tip: cleaning is by request only, and requests must be made by 4PM latest the day before. So if you plan to check in after 4, make your request ahead of time by phone.

Interesting concept!

I travel quite a bit for business and this was the first time in a Sonder property. The room was nice and conveniently located near 5th Avenue NYC. It is a bit of a coordinated effort to part and gain access to the hotel and room. Having your identity confirmed before travel was ok, but another step. The ease of moving about was fine after you got used to this process. The room itself was nice with great light, pretty spacious for NYC and a great shower!

Allergies Beware

I have had black mold poisoning, and although this property looks clean, the ceiling had black dots in my room and shower area. I also couldn’t breathe well and was tearing up and stuffy the entire time I was in the room. I wasn’t in the room much since I arrived late at night, was at work all day the next day and out all night, then checked out by 8AM the day of departure. Some people might not have an issue, but my allergies after having black mold poisoning are super sensitive. The room appeared to be clean, and the staff were lovely. But if you have allergies, please be weary.

Centrally located with options for dining and several metro stops nearby. Staff very helpful and present - there is a self service element that some may not like (no daily cleaning, and app driven actions that some may not like).

Small trash and recycle bins were inadequate for a 3-day stay, but front desk provided additional bags on request. We enjoyed the stay and highly recommend for others.
