We booked a Suite with a Sea View at Preluna Hotel & Spa in Sliema, Malta, expecting a high-quality experience based on positive reviews. Instead, we faced misleading advertising, maintenance issues, and poor service.
Major Problems:
• The Skyroom rooftop restaurant was randomly closed on multiple days with no prior warning.
• Ongoing construction started at 07:00 AM daily, making it impossible to relax.
• Wi-Fi was slow and required logging in every time with a password from reception.
Room #1 Issues:
• Mini fridge was broken.
• Bathroom had a disgusting sewage smell that returned despite “repairs.”
• Loud construction noise every morning.
• Shower clogged after a repair attempt, causing water to flood the bathroom.
After two nights of complaints, we were moved to another suite with free breakfast as compensation.
Room #2 Issues:
• No hot water from Tuesday morning until midday Wednesday.
• Multiple failed repair attempts—staff blamed another room instead of fixing it.
• Constant interruptions—maintenance kept entering without resolution.
Other Issues:
• Customer service was inefficient. Staff weren’t rude, but nothing was properly resolved.
• Key problems, like construction and closed facilities, were NOT disclosed before booking.
Final Verdict: Not a scam, but highly problematic. Preluna Hotel is NOT worth its rating. If you expect a relaxing, hassle-free stay, look elsewhere. I regret booking here and would not recommend it.
