Nice beach and garden, everything else is poor!
The garden and the beach are the best features of this place. Everything else are very poor. The staff forgot your requests and do not even try to support you when they realized they missed it. They aslo should improve the food quality. The rooms smell mold and the AC was a lot noisy. There’s a taxi desk station at the hotel. The person in charge of this service over charge significantly the rate. Some of the taxi that came over to pick us up confirmed us he often double the price, which is more that adding a normal margin! Thavorn is not a place we will stay again

We stayed in hillside room, so funicular was a fun touch. It's a slow ride up and down and only one car was running, so there was a wait. Grounds and pool amazing. Breakfast was splendid. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Nice location by the beach, and rooms were ok but some needed to be refreshed a bit. We had a cottage which was nice and clean but had alot of ants in the cupboards and countertops which annoyed the kids a bit. Otherwise the food and service was generally good and the distance from the beach was perfect.

Overall an average experience. The property is very outdated. Bed/pillow sheets have stains on them. Room feels too humid and has molds on the ceiling. On the good side. The scenery is very beautiful. Food is good and the staffs are nice. If you want calm, beautiful gardens, amazing lagoon pool than this the hotel for you. 25 minutes to town in the free hotel shuttle is very handy. Jung Ceylon mall is fantastic for shopping and food. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back. Recommend the pool access room.
