Do Not Stay Here
The good: The beach was nice and we mostly enjoyed our room (although the ceiling was leaking and apparently the way to solve that is drilling a small hole to let the water drain onto the floor as a slipping hazard…)
The bad: The food is mediocre and the alcoholic drinks have zero alcohol. If you want actual alcoholic drinks, you’ll need to get shots separately and put them in your drink.
This hotel only cares about its “VIP” members. VIP guests get preference on absolutely everything, including a walking orientation of the resort as well as restaurant reservations which are pretty much impossible for regular guests to get. I’ve NEVER experienced such a hierarchical resort before.
But by far the worst part of staying here was the staff. The staff here are....unkind, dismissive, and sometimes straight up rude. The staff largely ignore guests waiting for services and talk loudly to each other instead. There are no smiles, greetings, niceties or even common courtesy. The worst incident was when we went to eat at the Asian restaurant, I ordered food off an available restaurant menu and I was publicly chastised by one of the staff for ordering two additional dishes. The public confrontation ended with me asking “am I not allowed to order what I want…at an all inclusive resort?” It was uncomfortable, unnecessary, and completely unprofessional. The way staff treat guests is completely unacceptable and not in line with any normal hospitality standards.
