Not your typical hotel! This grand old home has been transformed into a fun, interesting, and clean place to stay. Lots of "home comforts" including a breakfast room, books to read, and games to play. The bathrooms are shared with other guests but were never occupied when I needed one. One thing to note is there are lots of steep stairs so it's not great if you have mobility issues.
The only negative experience I had was with parking. I had to drive around for half an hour just to find a spot for midsize car. When I finally found one, the draconian PDX parking rules dictated how early I had to check out. It was only upon checkout I read that I could have called the house's manager to get a special permit. Ugh!
This is a great place to stay for couples or for a friends' weekend as long as you have no mobility issues and are smartphone/email savvy, since checking in requires one to be. I'd happily stay here again and will recommend it to friends and younger family.
