I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Toon. Had a great day walking down by the river then round St James Park and up for a wee lunch on 26th floor at 360 around. Lovely city to walk about. Great wee novelty shops and cracking pubs.

Plenty of bars and restaurants, excellent transport system, 25 minutes from central station to Whitley Bay on the metro £5.90 for a day ticket. Be prepared to get crapped on by a seagull, especially around the Tyne Bridge.

First time in Newcastle and was really impressed; I would definitely go back. Beautiful architecture, good museums and great shopping. London of the north (but cleaner and friendlier)!

Newcastle is a small city and easy to navigate and has a lot to offer. The theatres, restaurants, bars and shops can rival many of the bigger cities we've visited.

"So convenient for NCL, a short walk from arrivals. Also, less than 5 minute walk to get rental car in the morning. Finally I was able to get a table in the restaurant, have something to eat and write my report from the days work while waiting for a late flight."
"I always have a great stay at the Maldron. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, down to the little robot who politely asks you to make room in the lift. No I'm not joking..."
