It's a great launching point for everything the Whitsunday Islands offer. It's a bit of a party town with lots of hostels. Most of the other accommodations are up the hiIls. I was there the first week of school holidays so it was full of uni kids.

Very touristy with many t-shirt,flipflop stores but some excellent diner dining along the shore. We always split one dinner, ordered one glass of wine, one appetizer and dessert and always spent at least 100,that was one person drinking 1 gl of wine.

"Really loved the accommodation, the beautiful clean pool and spa, and the spectacular views. All staff were friendly and helpful. Nice short walk down to town, and a cheap Cab ride back if you weren't up to the walk back up the hill. Will be back. Thank you."
