We usually come to Townsend Tn in the Fall and during that time of the year it's very quiet with only a few businesses open. We were amazed at how busy it is during the summer. We plan to come again in the summer to float the river.

Townsend is a small town with a lot of charm. It was the perfect trip, especially if you are looking for a quiet town near a ton of hiking trails and close to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Knoxville, and Maryville.

What an amazing town! We talked about staying forever and not going home! They call it the peaceful side, and it is! Takes a bit to learn the layout, but once you do, it all makes sense! Lastly, this hotel is on a road that drives you right to SMNP!
"First night there was a little loud from guests upstairs but other than that our stay wad great. Got to see the unexpected bear in the dumpster. Hopefully next time we can stay longer than 2 days"
"This was our 5th time at DBL. we love it so much. The only negative is the mattress is losing its firmness. It has a hammock shape when you lay down. "
"Everything was immaculate. The hot breakfast was delicious, and there was a great variety. The owners were friendly and made sure to welcome you. We look forward to returning! "
"There were only 2 hiccups the shower handle wasn't working and we had to wait to get to our parking spot on a couple that had to strap down their motor ycles and car before we could get to our parking spot. We loved the chalet it was very peaceful "
