"The Savoia Excelsior Palace Trieste provided an overall excellent experience. The check in was extremelly fast. They stored our luggage for us to have lunch while waiting for our check in time. Staff was extremelly friendly and helpful. They recommended excellent places to visit within walking distance as well as dining that was superb. Great location. We felt safe walking at night. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and quite well equipped. My only quibble was that the Sky TV connection was not working, although since I wasn't that bothered I didn't complain! Also for some the variety at breakfast was fairly narrow. The only eggs were hardboiled for example. But nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay."

The simple interior design consisting of aluminum, marble (the real one), and mirrors let the 180 degree view of the Adriatic Sea speak for itself. The breakfast service was excellent, and all receptionists (except for one grumpy guy) were kind, pleasant, helpful and friendly.
