Beautiful city, wasn't expecting it to be as big. Can recommend going to Euromast (all the way to the top with Euroscope), Cube Houses, Markthal for lunch, and Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.

I just love Rotterdam in general. Nice city with a little contrast to what Amsterdam has to offer. Well worth a visit. The fact that I feel as safe in the Netherlands as I do at home in Scandinavia is just great.

Rotterdam does not have as many attractions as other cities, but the people are friendly and you can use it as a base to explore smaller towns in the Netherlands.

Modern city, interesting architecture built on sand (so watch the undulating pavements). It's culturally diverse and friendly.

we had a lovely Valentines trip! we're big foodies, so the market hall nearby was perfect for us! we will be coming back
"The bed was amazing. Room was big for European standards. The restaurant was great and very accommodating when we showed up ten minutes before closing, exhausted and hungry. Overall we would definitely stay again."
"This place is beautiful! Great location near two tram stations. Lots of food options and things to see. The front staff were so helpful and friendly! Room was comfy and clean! They were so accommodating when we needed anything for our room or an early check in. Loved how eco friendly they were too! We would absolutely stay here again! "
"Again one of my better choices, and thrilled to have had the opportunity to stay here. Location was prime, and walkable/bikeable to everywhere I wanted to go. The area was busy, however not chaotic. The restaurant on site had wonderful and artsy/interesting choices for both food & beverage. I though the pricing was a little steep, but the portions were also more than I had expected. The overall design of the rooms and general property was eye catching and energizing, without compromising ease and comfort. Suitable for solo travelers, business travelers, and families. The staff I met were all kind and helpful, offering a high level of service standard."
"The hotel was very good clean tidy plus the staff were very helpful, our room came with a bath with a shower in which Alison couldn't get in very easy so they moved us to a different room with a walk in shower, nothing seemed to much a problem.
I am gluten and dairy intolerant so when we went for breakfast they had a lot of items i could have, we both enjoyed our breakfast it was very very good "
"Spent more than I normally would to upgrade to an Executive Room and definitely didn’t regret it. There was a massive amount of space and it was great to have a bath as well as a shower. Also really helpful to have a UK socket as well as a USB (I’d seen other reviews saying there were only European sockets - there were plenty of those too!)
The highlight of the room was definitely the stunning view over Rotterdam. It was great to just sit and watch as the city woke up. The hotel is also very convenient and is right next to the metro line going to the beach at Hoek van Holland. Short walk to central station.
Also really liked the option of self service check in and out. "
"We stayed at The James for 5 nights and it was fantastic. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, we stayed in a family room which was very spacious. The little market area for drinks, snacks and breakfast was very convenient.
All the staff we encountered were very friendly and the whole family really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return!"
"Beautiful hotel, great location on the beach. The pool is only inside- but the sea is right there. Tons of restaurants and a board walk. A lot of things for young kids. If you prefer pools this is not your place, it is inside and small, but beautiful
Hotel (we really liked it and would recommend to a friend)"
"Hotel was very clean, modern and staff were very friendly. There is a very fancy restaurant on site as well but we did not eat there. Surrounding area seemed industrial but was a quick trip to the center of Delft for restaurants and shopping."
