Would have been a nice hotel
The hotel is situated about 3 kilometers from the Genting Highland Resort, the world's largest hotel, on a mountain-top surrounded by greenery. This has a benefit of no bustling crowds. It would have been an ideal place for a quiet retreat to enjoy cool Genting weather while watching sunset behind the mountain covered with tropical trees as far as your eyes can see.
The reality is anything but ideal. There is a construction site next to one of the buildings erecting three huge towers. The diesel construction machinery starts working everyday from around 8 am and continues well into 9 or 10 pm. Added to that is the sound of hammering and drilling throughout the day . If your room is unfortunate to be on this side of the hotel, as my initial room was, it would be unbearable both to your ears and the pollution to your nose. And if your room is lucky enough to be on the other sides, even though you might be able to escape the noise pollution, your sides are likely to be surrounded by the construction supplies that from time to time trucks or tractors will come to load or unload them.
