Nice Little Hotel with a Great Breakfast

Hotel was a great pick for our one overnight between Frankfurt airport & Bonn next day. Good location, on the river & convenient for prowling Rüdesheim restaurants. Breakfast, included, was amazing! Parking is not on site...feed the Automat between 09:00 &18:00 @ lot one short block away. Wifi slow for streaming, OK for non-video data.

Very friendly family hotel

Pleasant walk along waterfront from rail station. Checked in at 12 noon with no fuss. Allocated a room with comfortable arm chair and couch, overlooking the riverside, for self and wife, and an adjacent single room for our son. Wide choice at breakfast. Short walk through a really pretty town to the cable car ride to a superb viewing point. In Rudesheim, the freight trains run along the river bank, so choose a place back from the waterfront if you are very noise sensitive - shutters just accentuate the train noise, but double glazing sufficed for us. Excellent choice of restaurants.

Family business for 300 years

This quaint building is a part of a 300 year old family business. See the photos of previous hoteliers in the dining/lobby area. As seemed common in our Germany lodgings, the dining/check-in areas are the front room of the building. Staff was great and provided any help we needed. Breakfast was good. We had a large bathroom by European standards and they had tried to provide a comfortable space, including black out curtains by the bed. The church bells did ring at about 7AM but it was charming rather than annoying. We did have to park slightly off-site but that's common when you are staying in an area built before cars were invented. Easy walk to the seilbahn if you are taking the lift ride, and to the train station if you are taking the Rhine river day cruise and returning via the train.

Die Unterkunft kann man ohne wenn und aber weiter empfehlen. Die Inhaberfamilie ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Parkplatz Möglichkeiten in der nähe des Hotels sind da aber mit 15 Euro pro Tag etwas teuer. Sonst alles okay.

No frills but superb location

The people were very nice and helpful. The location is perfect. Nice view, park next door, restaurants in the area and good parking. The rooms and decor is really old and somewhat run down. The room was clean though. Really small tv that we did not even bother with. The WIFI is was lame and and took some walking around :). The location was really what made the stay not a total disappointment.
