I got a private room with two other friends. The room was clean for the most part. There is no food allowed in the room which my friends and I were thinking that maybe they have some issues with rodents or something along those lines. Toward the end of our trip, I saw ants crawling on my clothes. I'm sure it's because we did laundry and the smell attracted the ants. I shook them off my stuff and didn't see them anymore. The bathroom was clean for the most part. It looks like there is a little bit of mold or water damage on the walls inside the showers but other then that, the shower experience is just like any other hostel with dormitory style bathrooms. We also saw a cockroach the size of a big toe crawling around by the shared rooms close by the bathrooms. The shared space isn't are conditioned but is a fun design and a cool space to hang out with friends. Laundry is done in one of the little ally ways and you have to air dry your clothes on the clothing line by the bathrooms. The staff were wonderful, nice, and welcoming. They provide free water in the lobby and some rooms have a water container that can be refilled in the lobby. Breakfast is very simple with bread that you can toast, different delicious spreads, Thai style donuts, cornflakes, milk, sweet instant hot chocolate, and well balanced instant coffee. If you are a simple traveler who just needs a clean bed, warm shower, and simple breakfast in the morning to get your day started, this is the place for you.
