Location was convenient for our travel needs. We were visiting waterfalls in Buffalo area earlier in the day, ended with the awesome eternal Flame Falls. Chaffee Inn. Was on our way to Letchworth State Park which was our main stop the following day. It would have been less $ if we booked directly thru the lodge, but the hotel didn't return our email or phone call soon enough so we booked thru Expedia instead. So if you can book direct it's a better deal.

Don't be put off by first impressions. This place was nicer than other places we stayed that cost a lot more. The Chaffee lounge the the most pleasant surprise of our trip. We were a little skeptic at first when we saw the place but boy, the room was huge and clean. The man who greeted us, I think the owner was nice and helpful. It was close enough to restaurants and anything you needed.

We did not stay. Would rather lose our money than stay. If this is a 3star hotel, we will never stay at one recommended by Expedia. Going to-only use Brand Hotels. The staff was very nice and would have refunded our money if they could.

Still gives me the willies

For starters, we had noticed earlier in the day(10am) that check in was at 4:00 and our schedule made that a little tight so we reached out to see if we could check in early rather than checking in after our plans. I tried to contacted them via telephone multiple times and through the Hotels.com app and received no reply. Once we arrived at the property, later at night then we would have preferred, it was pointed out that the local food venues should be closing shortly and we should make sure to get out to get dinner. When we were able to come back to settle in we were disappointed in the condition of the room. There where overused outlets, which we considered a safety hazard, the outlet in the bathroom didn't have a cover plate, several light bulb sockets with no bulbs, and when we went to crawl into bed, the sheets were filthy (on both beds) and we ended up sleeping on top of the blankets until very early in the morning when we had to leave. The bathroom was also filthy, hair in the shower and all over the sink. I was very surprised that a hotel that had an 8.4 star rating would be this filthy. It's really a shame because the lobby gave me the impression it was going to be a neat place to stay.

It needed a really good cleaning

The bedding appeared to be clean but the bathroom was filthy the floors were dirty and had hair on them. They needed to be swept and mopped. Half the lights and fan didn't work in the bathroom. The smoke detector was missing. The floors were sticky and needed mopped and i pulled out the bedside stand to get to the plug and there was dirt and dead bugs behind it. The manager was a super nice guy thats the only good thing i can say.

There are very few hotel/motels in the area. The room was fine and the location okay, but there could have been a few things done to up-keep the property: the grass around the facility sign was overgrown and the property just had a bit of "unkemptness" to it...
