Good hotel, friendly service, fabulous restaurant

I got a very warm welcome when I checked in. Often when I travel solo in Switzerland, I get landed with the least desirable restaurant table (in the middle, under the bright lights) and I was so thankful that the receptionist went out of her way to make sure I had a nice corner table. The restaurant was very good, with a good selection of local venison options. The breakfast choices were also good, including eggs, bacon, etc. I would have eaten there more nights if there was some kind of discount or prix fixe option for hotel guests. I did not want to eat there every night, so did not want the haft-board option. The room was comfortable and clean with a good view, although I was a bit self-conscious that the balcony of the room to my left could see into my room, and my bed. But that was a minor problem that could be addressed by closing the curtain.

3 unforgettable nights

Baren hotel in Wengen area is a piece of heaven in earth. I am not sure where to start, thetmy have very wonderful outdoor play area, i myself enjoyed it, and a rabbit din next to it, 6 amazing rabbits, my kids spent hours feeding them. I took the challet room, it has 4 beds and fair balcony facing the alps, at night with a glass of wine, you won't renember any of your worries. Breakfast is magnificient, i asked for gluten free bread and i got it. They even have flax,shia and sun flower seeds. They are very close to the main shopping road, sports center and they provide transportation from station to hotel.

The hotel was a few minutes walk from the wengen station. The room was comfy and nice with a great view too. Breakfast was not bad and we had the half board on one of the nights which was good. Only point we were unhappy about was once when we went back to our room when it was being cleaned up, we noticed that one of our slipper was being used as a door stopper!! There was actually a door stopper there but she decided to use our Havaianas slipper instead which should not happen as it could have been spoilt by slotting it beneath the door.

Wonderful stay!

We absolutely loved this place! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The view from the room was spectatcular. Very clean, comfortable. Excellent breakfast and dinner. We loved all the little touches that made it so comfortable and homey. Definitely stay here!

Great place to stay in Wengen

The hotel was good. Staff very nice and helpful. We stayed in the "Cozy" family room (4 single beds divided into 2 rooms with connecting door between). Worked great for my wife and I with our adult son and teenage daughter. Not a whole lot of room to move around as the beds took up most of the available space, but was OK because we spent most of our time out and about which is the reason to be in the Alps. Morning breakfast was good as well. If any negative, it was that our bedroom windows were eye level for people passing by on the walkway and road, which was less than ideal. However, overall a great place to stay and would gladly stay here again.

A nice & clean hotel in Wengen. If you are travelling with your family, I would highly recommend to book in to their family rooms that have four beds.

Lovely area to stay

Wengen is a beautiful little village. The area is a Swiss Yosemite. The hotel is a hundred yards from the train station. It is a nice little hotel. I would stay again. The meals that can be added to your stay are delicious and a good price (Switzerland is not cheap).
