Cozy Hostel
If you have the money to I would recommend taking a taxi up to the hotel when you first arrive because the trek up there from the main bus depot is pretty exhausting. But once you get there the hostel has an awesome location, easy to walk to all the main tourist sites but also in a fun neighborhood to explore. Don't expect the staff to speak perfect English, but they are definitely patient and will work with you to help figure out what you need. Our room was surprisingly big and the bed was super cozy, the only thing that might bother some people was that the shower door was a little janky but we didn't mind. The hostel is definitely not a party place, but if you're a light sleeper I would still recommend ear plugs because the stairs and hallway were creaky and echo-y, and there was a fair amount of street noise. Breakfast in the morning was simple, but tasty and always featured fresh fruit, yogurt and bread. Wifi was weak.

Lindo hostel, muy bien ubicado!
El hostel queda en el cerro alegre, y desde la terraza se observa una hermosa vista. Los desayunos son abundantes y muy ricos. La atencion muy calida y atenta.

Very good
We loved this hostel, the owner was such a lovely and friendly lady, the room was clean and comfortable, the wifi was strong, the breakfast delicious and extensive, and the general area was superb for walking in the old town, seeing all the murals and eating in nice restaurants. Excellent experience, fair price, nice hostel.

Nice and at the right location....
I stayed 3 Nights in this Hotel/Motel. The location is nice because you are very close to the sight seeing walking tour described at the local city Maps. Parking the Car in the street or around the corner is easy and for free (you´ll not need your car during the stay). The Rooms are very easy but clean, due to the fact that the house is very old, you can hear across all doors and walls. The Breakfast was good and enough for the day. The stuff is friendly but there english is very bad (everywhere in Chile...). I would book it again, for this price its very ok. Its not a wellness super mega 5star Hotel but to visit Valparaiso its totally enough. Oh and the Top Terrace is nice to have a look around the area including Harbour and so... But its not well Maintained.

Pequeno e pouco confortável
Chegamos ao hotel por volta das 6 da tarde e a dona não tinha certeza que iríamos?!!!! Ela às pressas organizou um quarto, que não tinha TV (tinha emprestado pois pensava que não iríamos!!!). Não gostei muito, achei o local muito apertado e pouco confortável. O café da manhã é muito pobre, você tem que falar um dia antes o que quer, mas não pode repetir. A grande vantagem do local é sua localização, no alto de Cerro Alegre tem uma visão privilegiada. Se você quer somente um lugar para dormir sem conforto e com um bom preço, a pedida é esse hotel.

Hostel Priced Well, Clean Room and Great Breakfast
We stayed in Hostel Adlafken twice on our first night in Valparaiso and then last after returning our rental car. An older building, it has a wonderful rooftop terrace with view of the port and the ensuite room we stayed in was clean and affordable. The breakfast was ample with plenty of choices available. All in all a good value when trying to keep to a budget.

Great place, great location, and great price
The Hostel is in an outstanding location and offers nice services for next-to-nothing prices. Even though I spoke very little Spanish, I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. I intend to go back for sure.
