Many of the people who stay at this hotel have loved ones having procedures at Duke Medical Center, and it is a quiet, friendly place to rest after a stressful day. Staff very friendly. Relaxing stay. Only issues are extreme amount of large cockroaches outside and throughout the parking lot. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and hard. Location next to Duke Medical is the largest plus.

The desk lamp did not work. The blinds did not go up nor down. They were frozen in place. I reported this problem when I checked in, but it was never fixed. I bought 2 hard-boiled eggs in the cafe. As soon as I stuck a fork in the egg it crumbled and water squirted out. Thankfully, the cashier gave me a refund for the eggs. On a brighter note, the bed was very comfortable.

The location next to The Duke Medical center was great . The free on site parking with extended use period allowed me to leave my car at the Lodge for the duration of my visit to the Hospital. It was a very rainy day and the free shuttle to the hospital was quick and efficient in a clean vehicle and very nice driver. The breakfast cooked to order was great.
