Gran Hotel Mexico

Its our second time staying at this place, my kids loved the pool and its conveniently located. Staff goes above and beyond , and it has become our pick choice for hotel in Tehuacan. The restaurant has exellent food and surely we'll be back.

An antique beauty

Beautiful old hotel with lovely courtyards—what a find. It was fun to explore. The pool area has an outdoor “livingroom” with a tv—and there are ping pong tables—both a hit for our family. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Not recommended

The hotel has lots of character but no hot water and had no water at all to flush toilet. They gave us a room right in front of restaurant which was loud and not comfortable. The waiter in the restaurant was not friendly and disappeared for 15 minutes when we were trying to get check.

Large colonial style hotel

The Gran Hotel must have been the hotel to stay when in Tehuacan back in the day. It's colonial style architecture is very impressive and it has a nice large pool. I wish the staff spoke English but that's an issue anywhere you go in Mexico. It felt safe but one should always excercise caution in one of the most dangerous countries in the world!

My family has been going to this hotel for ages and this time we were blown away by all of the renovations to the rooms. We loved our stay even more because of that! We will continue to make this hotel our home when traveling to Tehuacan :)

We had trouble with a clogged shower drain. They too too long to take care of us. I finally requested to be changed to another room.

Great location but very poor condition of room facilities. The toilet leaked water over the bathroom floor, the TV did not have good reception and the remote had to be replaced. The air conditioner did not work and the glass louvre windows did not block out barking dog noise at night. Checkout involved having to call Orbitz customer service agent to convince the front desk that the room had been prepaid, as they claimed Orbitz had not paid them. Very poor experience and we do not recommend Hotel Gran Mexico.

The room was ok. However, it was not ready until 4 pm (more than an hour after the check in). The staff was not useful until I complained about it. They gave me an incorrect tv control and I had to go two times to the desk in order to receive the right one.
