We stayed at Crystal Crown Hotel Johor Bahru from 29/3 to 1/4 during the Raya holiday for a short Singapore trip. Chose this hotel because of its location near CIQ and reviews mentioning spacious rooms. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The hotel and room were old and outdated. Shower water pressure was inconsistent — it stopped and started while using, which was very annoying. TV was small, fridge wasn’t turned on, and basic amenities were lacking.
The worst part — my son's soft toy (a SGD18 dragon from Universal Studios) went missing from our room on 31/3 while we were out. He was very attached to it and slept with it every night. The only people who entered the room were housekeeping. We reported the incident to the front desk, but they couldn’t give any answer. At check-out, they asked us to write an incident report and wait for their investigation.
After two days, Azhar from the hotel replied saying they are not responsible for lost items and asked us to make a police report. Seriously? They expect guests to travel back to JB just to report a missing soft toy? This response was frustrating and disappointing. No accountability, no empathy.
We will never stay here again. The staff can’t be trusted and the hotel clearly does not care about guest experiences. Not safe, not worth it. Avoid this place.
