Clean room and good breakfast

Clean hotel room, uncomfortable sofa bed for kids which is a shame as everything else is perfect for a family. Great location if travelling to Calais from Alps. Good breakfast and customer service. Parking with entry/exit bars located just opposite the hotel (extra 13Euro fee).

Holiday Express fail

Room was not ready when we arrived. We decided to sight-see and check in later. We finally were checking in and they could not find our reservation. We stopped by and dropped off luggage, we should have been expected. They said our room had a balcony… it only had a window. The TV or air conditioning did not work. The bed was uncomfortable and the mattress was a spring mattress. Did not get a good night sleep. The staff was very kind, but the establishment was a disappointment.

Modern hotel within walking distance to downtown

We usually travel quite extensively around the world. This was our first trip since the COVID-19 lock-down in France in mid-March. This hotel is very modern in a very quiet area close to park spaces and walking paths. It is located about 20-25 min walk from the cathedral and the downtown core. Very friendly staff but we had some disappointments during our stay. While the masks are mandatory outside your room (good thing), there are serious flaws at breakfast. Unlike other hotels we went to during the same period in Germany and the Netherlands where staggered times were instituted at breakfast to avoid overcrowding and maintain social distancing, nothing of that sort was done at that hotel. We were shocked to arrive at an overcrowding breakfast where more than 50 people waited in very close-proximity to serve themselves from a buffet line using communal serving spoons (something to avoid entirely during a pandemic). The room temperature cannot be controlled (which is a big inconvenience when it is very hot 35C+). The management should add portable fans in every room to make it more comfortable. Additionally the Hotel.com website should be more precise. The website shows that the hotel has rooms with "King Size' beds but in reality they do not (with the exception of rooms for handicapped people which I could not get). Knowing that, I would have stayed elsewhere because at 1m95, I definitely require a larger bed.

Strasbourg Holiday Inn Express

Small Rooms

Nice hotel in a good location. Room was very small, however. We booked a “king” bed, but it was only a queen. Queen size is the largest sized bed the hotel has. I found this to be false advertising either by Hotels.com or by Holiday Inn. Staff was outstanding!

Not central located . TV Didn't work well in room ! I request to which room but wasn't given and opportunity. Should change name from central Holiday inn Express to Holiday inn by the Expressway
