This is a cute place to stay. My family of four stayed one night in the larger room with two queen beds and we were very comfortable. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is clean, quaint, in a great location, has comfortable beds, and how many times can you say you've stayed in old monastery? The champagne breakfast was the best we had during our trip. I would go back. And Bamberg is a gorgeous town. We liked this place.

Good location about 600m from cathedral and everything else. Being right next to the old monastery, it is also easy to find, just by sight, coming from downhill. Nice big simple room. Very comfortable bedding. Very good breakfast. My room had a problem with the toilet plumbing, but I do not expect that this problem will persist.

Really interesting location in the cloisters

Our room was on the 3rd floor and was really huge, with high ceilings, 2 double beds and a seating area. It had a nice modernised bathroom. The windows were about 10 feet up the wall and had no curtains. For some this would be a deal breaker. The breakfast was in a smart modernised area in the main building, the selection of food was ok, not brilliant but good enough. Note: this hotel is on a hill and its v hard work pulling the suitcases up the hill to the reception building. Also, parking is in a barrier protected area right by the hotel. Steep rates but 50% discount for hotel residents. Bamburg is lovely, recommend a good walk around. Visit Zum Sternla for a nice lunch and for smoked beer go to Schlenkerla.

It was very nice and great location. Tip- park in front of the entrance to unload and they will tell you the best place to park when you check in. There is little street parking.

Interesting hotel. Easy walk to the city.

Lovely hotel, within the old monastery. Nice, clean family room. Great breakfast. Friendly staff and good facilities. Lucky to get parking in nearby car park, though half price for guests. Church bells an unexpected alarm!

Tiny, uncomfortable bed! No way 2 thin adults can spend a night on! Difficult place to find! No friendly welcome! Disappointing!!

My family was traveling by rail in Germany. We got delayed several times due to late trains. We couldn’t make it to the hotel in time to check in before the front desk closed for the night (early by American standards). I called the reception desk from the train and explained the problem. They said they could not help me, so I had to reserve another room in a different hotel. They had already charged my credit card. When I asked for a refund, they refused to give my money back. I normally don’t write reviews, but this was such a bad experience. The problem came from a circumstance beyond my control, and their lack of understanding cost me significant money. We stayed in many hotels in Germany. All others were EXTREMELY helpful and great places to stay. Most Germans are friendly, helpful people. Not my experience at this hotel. Go see Germany! Don’t reserve here.
