แกรนด์โฮสเทล เบอร์ลิน, เบอร์ลิน

loved the place for it's atmosphere and wonderful staff. beds were comfortable and NO BUNK BEDS.. which was a nice change and ended up forcing people to chat to each other. I met and had some great chats with the people in my dorm because of it. bathrooms in the rooms a little outdated but clean. great snazzy bar downstairs serving German beer for a good price and playing good music. located near the ubahn that connects to main attractions and around the corner from fast food places that open almost 24/7. glad I stayed here. I had a great experience!

The staff is awesome. The bar downstairs is very cool - great way to meet other travelers and/or kill some time before you head out for the night. Not in a bad location either BUT - don't let these things this fool you. My dad & I had planned to stay at this hostel for 3 nights while we were traveling in Berlin until we were woken up by bed bugs our second night there! I had a bug on my jacket after our first night sleeping there & didn't think anyting of it. When I was woken up by the critters the second night, I turned the lights on only to find them EVERYWHERE! The beds, the walls, our belongins. Such an unfortunate event to happen at 3 am. The staff was awesome & hooked us up in a hostel across the street for the night, washed & dried our clothes & refunded us for our stay. But I was a bit upset to find out after the fact that they have had beg bug issues recently & didn't make anyone aware. We didn't sleep much that evening at all. We had to pack a bag & head across the street. My dad & I spent the following day looking for a steamer so we could steam our suitcases very well & some of our clothing we couldn't put in dryers. If any of you are unfamiliar with bed bugs, trust me they are not a good thing to have. I will give credit to the manager - she was awesome & understood the frustration & did everything she could to make us feel comfortable. If you choose to stay here just beware... don't let the bed bugs bite!

The rooms in Grand Hostel Berlin were great for the price, and it offers all of the benefits of a hostel stay without some of the more negative tropes of staying in one. All of the staff are friendly and speak excellent English. A word of warning, though - you may get put in a room with families with young children.

The staff were extremely friendly. I was given a welcome drink and they took the time to take me through the local amenities on the map.

This time was my fifth times in Berlin but worst one too, because if this awful hostel!
