The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast is simple but sufficient. It's close to the highway as well, yet quiet. You can't ask for better at this bargain price. Yes, the exterior is a bit shabby, but the rooms are fine. Call ahead and reserve directly from the hotel. Unlike big chain hotels, where the Hotels price is better than walking in the door to reserve, the Hotels website added a full $20 to the price at the Roosevelt

BED BUGS!! Gross!! No shampoo but 2 conditioners! 1 large towel and nobody available to give me another one! Cloudy water and only decaf coffee in the room. Breakfast was awful - sparse and again… nobody was around to refill anything! Paint drips all over the room, mirrors, doors, Extremely sloppy workmanship. No pride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Air conditioner didn’t work! Filthy carpet! I’ll never go back!! Never!!!!👎

I have never stayed at a place that I didn't want to take my shoes off or shower..so I didn't do either. Looks like the owner is trying to spruce the place up but there's a long way to go. Room 114 needs carpet replaced, bathroom needs gutted and redone, towels were old thin and stained. Reserved a king, was told didn't have one so we had to squeeze on a double bed. Ugh! Noisy with footsteps upstairs. Outside door to come inside the building doesn't lock. We didn't even attempt breakfast. Sorry...but didn't even meet our minumum standards.

When we arrived, there was no one to greet us. A key and room number for several guests was left on the desk. We went to our room and found that the window AC was broken and there was a box fan on the floor. We found a janitor and said it didn’t work for us and he tried to tell us the owner was out shopping for a new AC UNIT. He called the owner who said he’d call back in 5 minutes. When he called back, he agreed to move us to a different room. Carpet was nasty and filthy. Beds ok. But why would they put us in a room with a broken AC unit when they had a room with a working unit available? Also, the first room’s AC unit was not replaced while we were there for 2 nights. We stayed because nothing else was available near Roosevelt National Park. After this problem, no one representing the hotel ever contacted us and no one was available to talk to when we checked out. Not recommended! With our original check in paperwork was an envelope for housekeeping. None experienced.

Dirty, smelly and no service. Our keys were on the front desk with a receipt for our prepayment. The owners dog wandered freely in the halls with periodic stains in the carpeting If you like a pungent mildew smell go for it

1st room wasn’t ready bed wasn’t made, dirty towels on floor, AC didn’t work. There was an adjoining room that had a lock on our side, but no lock on the other side I opened the door there was someone in the other room! 1 door with a lock on only one side! Lobby smells carpet was filthy Manager cleaned our room she was as helpful as she could be considering what she had to work with. They did allow pets that is why we booked there. But would not recommend it. They recently had water damage lots of garbage outside the front door.

The hallway in the motel stunk like mouse piss pee. The carpet was gross property very old and not well kept at all. Pictures have to be of another place. Don’t bother going. There were holes in wall and half of the electrical outlets did not work and weeds everywhere along the property.

I cleaned someone else's toothpaste out of the sink and hair from the bathtub. The carpet was so nasty dirty and there was one sticky spot it that if they vacuumed they would have noticed. The room REEKED of spray i assume to cover smells. I asked for air purifier and they brought a fan with chunks of gunk on and said open the windows. There were several junk rooms filled with trash etc and basement apartment had 3 large dogs and filled with trash hoarder stuff. They burned strong incense that was strong. Breakfast there were about 6 bags of breads that EVERYONE dug into. Ice maker didn't look like it was cleaned. It was over all nasty....we forfeited 2 nights to get out. Go anywhere else

The back door was broken and you could just walk in. No security there. Breakfast was terrible. It was stale and old and bare. The coffee was yucky. Everything was moist and smelled like incense or mildew or both. The air conditioning was good. The room was decent if a little outdated or they rushed a paint job. There were electronics hanging out of the walls in the hallway. My shower had soap squirts on the walls that hadn’t been cleaned off and hair. I’ve stayed in worse. There are not many close grocery store options. The cutest tuxedo cat nearby. The front desk guy was friendly. Parking was easy but didn’t feel very safe.

Our stay at Roosevelt Hotel was disappointing, especially for the price. The whole building felt old & dirty. The linens were threadbare & stained. There were lots of dogs barking. They seemed to be doing some renovations, so maybe there is hope? But we will NOT be staying there again.

At check-in, the front desk clerk tried to charge me for what I had already a confirmed payment. When we entered our room, we found a filthy room, dirty floor, dirty commode, dirty refrigerator, dirty microwave, dirty, windowsill, dingy. washcloth, crumpled pillowcases, stained sink, and bathtub with cigarette burns, non-working television, nonworking power outlets. Thankfully, I had my Clorox wipes, and I cleaned everything. My husband went and got a vacuum cleaner to vacuum the floor. The walls are paper thin and loud music plus a room above us with creaky floor kept us up till late. The kitchen in the morning where we were supposed to get our coffee and continental breakfast was filthy. I had to make a pot of coffee and the filter and filter holder needed to be cleaned. Once I saw how dirty that was, I couldn’t drink any coffee. and neither did the other guests that saw me attempting to clean it. The interior and exterior of the hotel was littered with debris.

Excluding amenities such as a fitness room, a pool, or breakfast, there is a certain amount of cleanliness which is expected from the hotel room itself. In this hotel, the sheets were stained with, I assume, tobacco. Cigarette burn holes in the sheets, broken screens in windows, stained carpets, brown towels, and mold in the bathroom. The sad part is that travelers at the minimum, just want a clean place to put their head and take a shower in a clean bathroom with white towels.

We had originally been given a single room instead of a double. It appeared that the double room had not been prepared—no cups and no bath towels.

There is nothing at all that is even okay at this property, gave us the wrong rooms to start with, we tgen went to check them before unloading our luggage, and they were horrendous, crap stains in gge toilet, used soap on the sinks, whole place had a horrible stench, no screens or broken screens on tge windows, which were left open, so who knows what decided to make it their home, we went back up to the desk, returned our keys in the box, as there was no one around, and left, no way i was sleeping there. In the process of getting a refund. Do not even bother looking at this place.

Nice hotel about 30min drive away from Teodor Roosevelt NP. A bit outdated but good and clean enough for a night sleep,
