Hotel owner / receptionist not particularly friendly towards us.
We booked because pets were allowed, but with many restrictions as it turned out. We had to have a room on the lower floor at the back looking at the kids play area, because it had wooden flooring, we were told.
We asked if the dog could be in the dining room for diner, only in the back room with no view of the viaduct, so we put her in the car. We were told no reservations were allowed for dinner, first come basis. So we arrived early and were first there. The woman then checked a table plan to see which one we could have! Noticed that a table next to us had been laid especially for 3 people, who arrived later. Even later a couple arrived with a dog and gave a room number from a higher level looking out front over the viaduct.
We felt like 2nd class citizens.
Swimming pool closed, tennis courts old and tired, dogs not allowed in the grounds.
All in all a pity, nice location, and was once a lovely 1970's style hotel, but stuck in the past.
Restaurant food OK but my medium steak was more well done than medium.
One visit enough, did not feel welcome as a Brit with a dog.
