The accommodation was appalling. First impressions were of an unkempt place. The stair carpet was extremely dirty. The room itself was large with minimal furniture. The curtains wouldn't draw together. The radiator wasnt working. There was no hot water in the shower and when we told the manager who wasnt on site, he said it should have been fixed. The breakfast was aweful, I asked for scrambled egg and when it came it was fried eggs chopped up. I asked to speak to the manager and the young man, who was one of 2 members of staff in the hotel, said he wouldnt be in till later that day. We cancelled our 2nd night stay.

Front of house guy friendly & helpful. However there was no heating in our room on a cold weekend. Breakfast was supposed to be "continental" but all we got (left out in a back room) was cereal and toast!! Nothing had an opening date on it as per food hygiene regs.

Upon arrival it became apparent very quickly that the property doesn’t match the reviews given. Staff were friendly but a shoestring budget which this establishment obviously has to operate with sadly leaves it lacking in many areas. The room was on the surface clean but closer inspection showed now dusty and I need of more attention. We were told that it was better to have a bath as the shower wasn’t working properly, neither was the tv which kept turning off due to complete lack of WiFi in the room along with a intermittent working fan and light in the bathroom. Difficult to sleep with the beat of very loud music in the bar until well after 11pm. We mentioned on arrival we would need our breakfast at 8am which is when the breakfast service begins. Chef arrived late and breakfast arrived at 8.40am. Breakfast was the most measly of offerings. Cold baked beans, white bread only and no brown sauce. Cup of tea served in stained cup. All in all very disappointing and definitely not worth the £95 we paid. We won’t be returning to this establishment

Bed had been changed & that was it! Waste basket full, no replacement of tea, coffee, etc. Previous guests towels, bathroom not cleaned. Shower not working along with the 'sink light', fan & main light intermitant

Room was clean however booked 2 rooms and had one towel between 4. Had to request more towels. Breakfast was very poor. Basically a bit a fruit, some small boxes of cereal and bread that was mouldy. Really badly presented. A little bit more attention to detail and fix fundermental issues and it could be decent accomodation. But really dissapointed and would not stay again

Somewhat chaotic and pretty rundown. Although the bedrooms were clean, they could have done with redecoration. Soap dispenser was almost empty and the loo seat was loose and had seen better days! The restaurant menu in the room bore no resemblance to what was actually on offer.The restaurant was also rundown and neglected

It was limited dining. They offer season veg and gave us peas. And for the price it was expensive. Breakfast was shocking. The toaster didn't work. The bread was moled. There was nothing else to eat. The one staff that was on.said nothing at and just looked at us. He didn’t care. You need to get better staff. The room was ok. sheets were clean. But i won't be staying again.

The place had literally changed management that day so unfortunately there was no cooked breakfast (only continental) until Sunday when the Chef would be in. Also the dinner menu was changed temporarily because of the sudden change in management. However, the new management and team were amazing in the service provided. Dinner was excellent and there was enough at breakfast for us to be satisfied. Rooms were spotless with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Hot powerful shower with shampoo, shower gel, soap, etc provided. Comfortable bed and pillows. Dog friendly too.

Its a bad review due to the poor staffing circumstances. We booked two nights B&B a few weeks ago. We arrived to be told the hotel had been bought the week before. A manager was down from London to oversee for the weekend. Our room was very nice and we had food on Saturday evening from a very limited menu completely different to the one we were expecting, which was very nice. We got up to a nice breakfast. We had to explain that we were not paying for it as we were staying bed and B&B. There was no breakfast menu, and the lady had started 2 days before. We had to ask for juice which she provided unsure what to do. We went out for the day to a Christmas market and Frome. We returned to the hotel at 6pm completlely closed and in darkness. All staff had left and we were unsure if we were the only one's there. We heard music from one other room so, assumed it was a staff member or another guest? We wanted food, so had tyo leave again to find somewhere. Luckily there was a chip shop down the road. We awoke to no breakfast. No staff. The other room were guests too on the way out. We agreed to leave after them and locked the front door. We posted the keys in a letterbox and left to look for breakfast. All staff had left at 3pm and no more were returning until Wednesday. Why did no one tell us in the morning? I've never had to close up my own hotel after visiting!!

Had a lovely weekend stay here in November, the place is charming and has a lot of character. The room was large, clean , well furnished and there was everything you needed , I also loved the view and that you could look out and see the thatched roof . Check in was easy , all the staff we met over the weekend were very welcoming , friendly and helpful so it made you feel very relaxed. New management had just taken over when we stayed , I was really happy with stay here and would recommend it.

Very welcoming. Room clean. Bed very comfortable. Good parking. Very dog friendly except there is nowhere to walk them. Breakfast disappointing as no hot drink with continental and no offer of more toast. Bathroom clean but somewhat dated.
